Janice Eng was a speaker at Women's Business Exchange and was enthusiastically received with a standing ovation.

Moreah Vestan with Westside Unitarian
Universalists--Compassionate Congregation Committee. She'll be
training the committee and board Nov. 16.
Barb and Doug attended the Freedom Project Fundraiser,
and are part of a Pan-American NVC group looking into organizing a Summer NVC Fesitival on Vashon in Summer 2009.

NCC made $1366.50 profit from Teach for Life (Barb organized).
7) ITC update -- Discuss
Mediation Proposal
Most of the ITC at this point are okay with mediation as a
final step rather than
a first step. Patty wondered what kept ITC members from being reps on CC. Some wanted more connection with TC and wondered if TC was also reluctant about being on CC. Barb hoped, that as a first measure, ITC members who had concerns talking directly to TC members they were feeling misgivings with. According to George's phone inquires, the pain in the ITC is different for each member (and maybe not all ITC members have unresolved pain with TC)..and unmet needs varied individual to individual,,some included equality, integrity, needing empathy for what had gone on in the past, inclusion, sense of belonging, consistency in walking our talk. We'd like resolution, completion. As Doug wrote to Erika, he mentioned safety and power as reasons ITC members might hesitate to speak to TC trainers. Barb would welcome being approached. Moreah would like honesty and trust and openness--get it out and move forward. Doug suggested we videotape our ITC meeting as we practice empathy and mediation with each other. NCC has been authorized to buy a video camera.

Oct. 26--uses are for learning as they reflect later on with
the video about their current feelings. Barb and Doug would
love to support growth and healing. Barb would be willing to
come to an ITC meeting. Barb will find out how GCC and other
NVC groups record meetings. Maybe CC could be recorded for NCC
members to listen to later. Barb highlighted the power of
REQUESTS....what requests to who (a group, another person, or
ourselves) can be made to meet the unmet needs?
8) TC update - TC decided,
after taking the summer off (for meetings), to resume with one
in-person meeting per month, the first Thursay, 9:30 - 1:00.
TC is going to review the purpose of their circle and their
meetings. It seems to be mostly a support group. Elana and
Mel went to an OR training on NVC and business--clear purpose
is important. Sura's new book is The No Fault Classroom.
TC meeting minutes are posted on googledocs. Want to review
system for requesting a training one an inquiry has been
routed to the TC.
9) New Webmaster Update: Joe Crick - Barb met with Joe Crick. Each trainer who has trainings posted: please tell Joe which training you'd like posted on the NCC Home Page and keep it up to date. Barb has been serving as NCC/Webmaster volunteer liaison for a few years, and would like someone else to take that over. No one on the TC wants to do it,,how about ITC? That would be someone to make sure web changes approved by CC, TC, or ITC are implemented by the webmaster. Call Barbara for more details, questions.
