Practice Groups provide a cost-effective and supportive space for ongoing NVC training to build skills for authentic expression and to engage in empathic connection. The list below is not a comprehensive list of practice groups. However all of the groups listed below are open to new members.

Some groups have requested NVC past experience, as noted in the description. Please note ending dates where they are posted.

Please know that Northwest Compassionate Communication does not develop, provide or endorse individual practice groups. Practice groups operate with autonomy and with or without a trainer and offer a variety of approaches to the process. We suggest that you ask questions of a group regarding their process in order to best determine how your needs are met.

BELLEVUE, ISSAQUAH, REDMOND / 98007 EASTSIDE PRACTICE GROUP:   We're looking for new members. We meet every other Monday evening from 6:30pm til 9:pm when scheduled at the Redmond or Bellevue Libraries and 7:pm til 9:00pm when scheduled at Unity of Bellevue or current member's homes (TBA).

   We would love for you to come to our meetings and see if we're a fit. If you have read Marshall Rosenberg's book -Nonviolent Communication [A Language of Life] and have the Nonviolent Communication Companion Workbook by Lucy Leu, we would love for you to come join us as we continue to learn through practice.

VASHON ISLAND / 98070 NVC and Empathy Practice: Participants co-create our experience. Role plays, empathy dyads, small groups, games, exercises....Check in and check out. We meet indoors  in inclement weather and outside when weather is agreeable for us.

NORTH SEATTLE / 98103 Truth in Dating: NOW FORMING (Beginning April 2016): a semimonthly peer support group for more fun, effective and connective dating and early romantic relating. Welcoming all levels of NVC experience who have completed a beginner's course or who have read Marshall Rosenberg's _Nonviolent Communication_ book and begun their practice. We will be using NVC, honesty and feedback in a sharing circle to generate insight, support, growth, new strategies and good boundaries. Highly recommended that you have also read through at least part one (chapters 1-4) of Susan Campbell's book _Truth in Dating_.  NOW FORMING. BAINBRIDGE ISLAND / 98310 Kitsap County, Bainbridge, Poulsbo, Silverdale, Bremerton: We have a mixed group of intermediate and beginning practitioners. We have an open format where we sometimes practice giving and receiving empathy and other times where we have more of a lesson on a topic requested and an exercise. We do role plays, use floor cards, use NVC Grok cards, or whatever is supportive.

TACOMA / 98407 Tacoma NVC Practice Group: We have an NVC practice group open to people of all ages and backgrounds who are looking for connection and meaning.  We learn and practice a needs-based consciousness using shared leadership, a simple format, role plays, and discussion.  Our covenant is "nothing but play."
