Teens at Family Camp
Hey Teens:
Teenage years….Wow! So much is happening. Bodies changing rapidly, responsibilities and abilities growing, belonging getting really important, and when did my parents become so lame? Help your parents make a choice that is cool for you both. Come to teen NVC camp, where you will be with other people your age, exploring that which is important to you, in a choice filled program designed by you and other teens so that it's truly awesome.
There's nothing to teach you, nowhere you're supposed to go, and no hidden plan. We believe you are amazing. We simply want to support you and others in fully experiencing that fact.
Why come? Here are some great reasons:
· First and most important, you are in control. There are other teens and young adults simply there to help you find what you want, and make it happen. (what follows are all possibilities. At camp it's what you are interested in + what we can make happen together)
· Adventure: Sea Kayaking, ropes course, sailing, going on hikes --your idea here--
· Fun: Dance parties, roller skating, trips to beach, pike place market, giant art projects, acro-balancing (this is way fun!!), theater and movie production, improv theater, music jam, swing dancing, blackberry eating contests (there are SO many there!), --your idea here--
· Connection: meet new friends, play, learn or lead games on communication, cooperation (new games etc), board games, card games, strategy games, talking about issues that are important to you in safe/judgment free spaces. Be with people who get you, and care. --your idea here--
· Learning: How to deal with your parents (learn what an NVC-hole parent is and how to handle them) Wilderness Awareness/survival, --your idea here--
· Pay It Forward: Wildlife Rehabilitation volunteer work, leading own workshop or offering, being a leader or mentor to younger kids, building structures from natural materials (Mud Brick Pizza oven!!), gardening, cooking, build structure or tree fort. --your idea here--
So, what are you waiting for? We have limited space, so go talk to your parents about it right now! (or whoever has the money to pay for it!)
Hey Parents of Teens:
How's it going? Would you like a great program for your teens to be in while you are in the Adult NVC program (or having time for yourself somewhere else)? We've got it. The Teen NVC program is designed for them with the input of other teens so that it's great for them and they leave asking you to come back next year.
Why is it so great for you?
· Know your teens are in a great, healthy environment with people who care about them
· Getting to share in the work that is important to you, but in a way that connects with them
· Know they are seen as nothing less then amazing by NVC wise young adult staff.
